About the Artist
It all started with Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet. No, seriously. I could have funded my art supplies ten times over if I had a dollar for every time I saw that phrase while putting together presentations, research proposals, or papers. As a pediatric anesthesiologist, I spend most of my day in the controlled chaos of the operating room. It's a place where precision, calm, and focus rule—my job is to help others, keep them safe, and be the quiet, steady hand behind the scenes.
Every time I took off my scrubs, grabbed a cup of coffee, and finally sat down after hours on my feet, I was overwhelmed with thoughts, emotions, and things I didn’t have the time to process while working. One day, I decided to channel those thoughts into painting, which became my way of " revitalizing" after every case.
At first, I just needed an outlet to express the complex emotions that piled up, one surgery after another. Painting started as a stress reliever—a way to decompress after long hours. But before I knew it, my subconscious took over, and suddenly, I wasn’t just a physician anymore. I was that anesthesiologist with paint under my nails, rushing from the OR to the canvas.
The same skills I use in the operating room found a new playground in my art studio. Precision became brushstrokes; patience, the layering of colors; and focus, the deep dive into shapes and forms that tell their own stories.
Now, I joke that my paintbrush is just another medical instrument. Only this time, instead of helping patients, I’m helping myself.
